STUDENT COUNCIL

Club Description

The Student Council is composed of student leaders elected at large by the student body. It serves as the students’ governing body as long as student activities are concerned. This organization also serves as a liaison body between the students and the faculty and between the students and the administration on matters pertaining to student affairs.

 

Club Objectives:

To help maximize the academic, moral, spiritual and social growth of students in the school by:

  • reviewing and recommending Bedan Junior High School students’ co-curricular and extra-curricular activities
  • providing programs that will develop and utilize the talents and leadership potentials of students
  • recommending rules, regulations, and policies for the welfare of the students, subject to the approval of the administration
  • establishing a closer interpersonal relationship between the administration, faculty, HISFACO, alumni association and with the rest of the student body

 

 

 

MARSHALS ORGANIZATION

Club Description

The Marshals Organization assists the Office of the Prefect of Student Affairs in enforcing the rules and regulations of the school and helps in maintaining order and discipline.

 

Club Objectives:

  • To involve the student body in the implementation of rules and regulations of the school
  • To assist the administration in enforcing school rules and regulations
  • To train qualified students to become leaders
  • To provide assistance to other clubs and organizations in their implementation of programs and activities

 

 

 

COMMISSION ON ELECTIONS

Club Description

Commission on Elections, also known as COMELEC, is a student-governed organization serving as the electoral arm of the student body. The COMELEC takes charge on the preparations and implementation of Student Council elections and referenda as approved by the administration.

 

Club Objectives:

  • To organize fair and honest elections for the student body
  • To implement activities that would inform the student body about the significance of their votes and of evaluating the candidates critically and fairly

Club Description

Religion Core Group is a community of students that aims to radiate an authentic Christian life among their peers, in their respective families and communities, and in the society at large. This assembly of students renders compassionate service to God through their provision of assistance during liturgical and sacramental celebrations, primarily, the Eucharistic celebration.

 

Club Objectives:

  • To help the members in acquiring Christian leadership skills
  • To train the members to serve during liturgical and sacramental celebrations with competence and sincerity

 

 

 

ENGLISH CLUB

Club Description

The English Club helps its members develop their communication skills in English through activities such as writing contests, seminars, and workshops. It also aims to develop the skills and talents of its members through continuous exposure to cultural shows and educational programs relevant to the use of the English language.

 

Club Objectives:

  • To train students to become good, effective and responsible speakers and writers
  • To provide students with opportunities to increase and develop their comprehension skills
  • - To provide its members with significant experiences that will help them improve their communication and literary skills

 

 

 

SAMAHANG BATINGAW

Club Description

Ang Samahang Batingaw ay pangkat ng mga mag-aaral na nagpapakadalubhasa sa wika, panitikan at sining na kinakapalooban ng kulturang Filipino. Layunin ng samahan na malinang ang kanilang kaalaman at kakayahan sa pagganap, pagbigkas, pagsulat, panonood at pagbasa. Ang mga kaalamang ito ang kanilang gagamitin upang maging kapaki-pakinabang sa Filipino na may pagpapahalaga sa sarili, sa kapwa, sa bayan at sa Diyos.

 

Club Objectives:

  • Upang higit na hubugin ang Bedista bilang isang Pilipino lalo na sa kasanayan sa pakikipagtalastasan sa wikang Filipino
  • Upang magkaroon ng pagkakaisa ang pamayanang Bedista sa pagpapalaganap at pagtugon sa kamalayang panlipunan sa tulong ng kani-kanilang kakayahan
  • Upang makaambag sa pagbabago ng mundo gamit ang kanilang kasanayang pangkomunikatibo

 

 

 

BIOSCICHEMPHY SOCIETY

Club Description

The Bioscichemphy is one of the Science clubs in San Beda. It seeks to arouse from students deeper and wider interest in the Natural Sciences and science-oriented activities while integrating Christian values as well. The club provides various opportunities to promote mastery of science concepts and to develop environmental concern and awareness among students.

 

Club Objectives:

  • To provide opportunities and activities that will develop critical thinking, laboratory and leadership skills among its members
  • To provide support in the implementation of various projects and programs of the Natural Science Area
  • To raise students’ awareness of environmental issues and their role in its preservation

 

 

 

MATH CLUB

Club Description

Math Club is an organization for students who are enthusiasts of Mathematics. The club aims to break the stereotype of seeing Math as something that is difficult, boring and uninteresting. It aspires to provide its members fun yet meaningful time with numbers and other mathematical concepts. To achieve these goals, the club provides various activities such as quiz bees, brain teasers, relays and seminars.

 

Club Objectives:

  • To enhance students’ critical thinking and mathematical skills
  • To provide students a collaborative venue to hone and practice their problem-solving skills
  • To provide help to other students who are deficient in mathematical skills

 

 

 

SOCIAL STUDIES SOCIETY

Club Description

The Social Studies Society aspires to encourage active participation of its members to uphold and preserve Philippine culture and heritage. It aims to provide members with essential knowledge and skills through its activities and programs which instill national consciousness among Bedans. The members of the club are prepared through intensive trainings, activities and interactions with other students.

 

Club Objectives:

  • To help students acquire greater knowledge, intellect and appreciation of social sciences
  • To produce citizens who are critically aware, involved and responsive to the current international, national and local situations, preparing them for the future leadership of the country
  • To develop students who are actively involved in socially responsible promotion of nation building

Club Description

Leading the way towards global competitiveness, the Homemakers Club offers an avenue for students to learn the concepts and skills on livelihood that will enable them to become active contributors in the community. Through exciting and challenging experimental activities such as cooking, sewing, handicrafts and housekeeping, the club aims to enhance the breakthrough thinking and practical skills of its members.

 

Club Objectives:

  • To instill life skills among its members
  • To help students to become responsible and productive members of their family, community and the society as a whole

Club Description

The Bedan Computer Club is a group of computer enthusiasts that aims to develop its members’ computer and information literacy that will enable them to cope up with the demands of the 21st century. The club provides lectures and activities that will expose its members to the world of advanced technology. It also aims to form camaraderie between and among members, moderator and the community as a whole.

 

Club Objectives:

  • To provide its members with fun and collaborative activities that will enable them to practice their computer and information-gathering skills
  • To instill proper etiquette among its members when accessing social media or other Internet websites

 

 

 

SPORTS CLUB

Club Description

The Sports Club organizes and supervises athletic activities that serve as the practicum for the different skills learned in the Physical Education classes. The club also aims to promote among its members the significance of observing proper and healthy lifestyle that may benefit them emotionally, psychologically and socially.

 

Club Objectives:

  • To inculcate and develop the true spirit of friendly competitions through sports
  • To discover students' potentials in the field of sports so as to develop and improve their skills fully through proper training and exposure to different physical activities

 

 

 

REDZ-IN-BEAT

Club Description

Redz-in-Beat is the official dance guild of the department that trains and prepares students who perform during important school events. It aims to develop creativity and self-confidence among its members through dancing. Simply put, this dance club encourages and aims to develop discipline and creative expression through music and dance.

 

Club Objectives:

  • To enhance the creativity and dancing skills of each member
  • To boost students’ confidence in performing in front of a crowd

 

 

 

GLEE CLUB

Club Description

Glee Club is an organization that seeks to develop the musical interests and abilities of students while contributing to the cultural life of the Bedan community through choral music. Inspired by the Benedictine hallmarks and the school’s mission and vision, the group commits itself to performing in various school activities – from Eucharistic celebrations to academic and social events.

 

Club Objectives:

  • To provide an outlet for the students’ potentials in the field of music
  • To develop and showcase the musical and artistic talents of its members
  • To develop and foster a real Christian community in a climate of musical appreciation which is a part of Benedictine education

 

 

 

RONDALLA ENSEMBLE

Club Description

Rondalla Ensemble is a group of young musicians that play plucked string instruments. This student organization aims to train and educate its members in preparation for various school and out-of-school events where they may be invited to perform. The club aims to preserve Filipino culture through playing classic Filipino folk songs and other genres.

 

Club Objectives:

  • To continue and preserve the legacy of Filipino folk songs that influence one’s identity as a Filipino
  • To enhance and showcase students’ musical skills through trainings and exposure to public performances
  • To motivate other students to pursue and intensify their love and interest on music

 

 

 

PEER FACILITATORS GROUP

Club Description

The implementation and effectiveness of the various Guidance services and programs designed for the students are made more extensive and concrete through its utmost service arm, the Peer Facilitators Group. This organization trains and sustains the student peer facilitators to become promoters and implementers of activities that encourage community building, neighborliness and concern for others.

 

Club Objectives:

  • To support the Guidance services and activities for the students
  • To act as the main or central figure on dissemination of information about the Guidance and Counseling Office’s various programs and services that are available to their fellow students
  • To provide its members with enriching experiences for personal growth and relationship

 

 

 

CUB RECORDER

Club Description

Cub Recorder is the official student publication of the Junior High School Unit of San Beda College Rizal. It serves as the voice and informant of the student body regarding the latest and most significant happenings both inside and outside the school. The Cub Recorder upholds itself to highest standards and reports nothing but the truth, and only the truth.

 

Club Objectives:

  • To serve the academic community of the department by acting as a source of information, comment and guidance
  • To develop students’ moral and religious integrity by guiding them in their pursuit of the truth
  • To develop students’ potentials in written communication and responsible journalism

Club Description

Bedan Photography Club provides students with opportunities to explore photography concepts. This is a beginning level photography club that introduces the fundamental skills in photography mechanics while exploring the possibility of photograph as a visual language. It is a club where students can enjoy expressing their emotions, ideas and creativity through pictures.

 

Club Objectives:

  • To promote creativity through photography
  • To educate and train its members to improve their photography skills

 

 

 

BEDAN BOOK LOVERS' CLUB

Club Description

The Bedan Book Lovers’ Club, also known as BBLC, aims to provide a supportive and stimulating environment for students who share the same love for books. Moreover, it aims to develop students’ interest and skill in reading through various listening, speaking, reading, viewing and writing activities. Through reading, BBLC aspires to help students in widening their vocabulary, improving their critical thinking skills and expanding their imagination and creativity.

 

Club Objectives:

  • To motivate students to have a great interest in the use of books and the Learning Resource Center
  • To familiarize students to many reading materials appropriate for their reading level
  • To expose students to various book fairs and other relevant events inside and outside the school that will heighten their love for books
  • To provide activities that will enhance students’ interest in reading, as well as their awareness of self and the world

Earthbeat Runway and Tree Planting

 


As part of the Science Week 2017 activities, Grade Seven students showcased their talents and creativity as they turned “garbage” into artistic fashionable outfit for Earthbeat Runway. This activity aims to promote environmental awareness among Bedans. Bedan community showed their support by participating in the program "Piso Para sa Kalikasan" where they can vote for their preferred design or class to support. This is to raise funds to be used for the Tree planting activity of the Science Area. The Tree planting activity was held at Tungtong Falls and was participated by the different Science Clubs’ members.

Pasiklaban

 


The Pasiklaban sa Paaralan is a nationwide contest that is hosted by the Diwa Learning Systems. This year's caravan visited San Beda College Rizal last October 6, 2017 and was held at the San Beda College Rizal campus, Jarrow hall. Selected Grade 5 and Grade 6 pupils, for the Grade School unit and Grade 9 and Grade 10 for the Junior High School unit competed for the top spot to have the chance to represent the school to compete with other schools to represent the region to the national round.Hans Miguel S. Salazar of 10-14 and Ma. Sofia V. Torres of 6-13 emerged as the winners for the Junior High School and Grade School, respectively.

JHS Science Week

 


The Science area of San Beda College – Rizal spearheaded the celebration of the Science Week 2017 last September 25-29 with its theme: “Think, Build and Sustain: A Continuous Progress in Scientific Paradigm”. Several activities, contests and programs were held that provided opportunities for the Bedan students to reinforce and strengthen their critical thinking skills and increase awareness on environmental protection and energy conservation through different activities such as Earth Beat Runway 2017: Piso para sa Kalikasan, Infobrochureon Disaster-Preparedness, Alchemy Challenge, Water Rocket Competition and Science Olympics. It was a fun-filled week that amplified their consciousness that involved relevant issues,science & technology and environment.
